The fallacy of the "oil-troubles".. |
|
Let's say, for simplicity's sake, that you own the ONLY grocery store in town, and all your shelves are fully stocked. You have the market cornered..
Customers are complaining about the high prices...but they have only YOU to buy from, so they continue to shop.. You have no problem refilling your shelves.
You are making more money than ever before, and your own family is enjoying a prosperous life.
People start suggesting that the way to bring prices down, is for you to stock more merchandise.. Your shelves are full already, there's no problem with your deliveries, and you are the only store in town (with no other store opening on the horizon)..
Why would you change a thing?

everyone can pressure congress and the "liberal" media to let your grocery suppliers go into all the wildlife refuges kill all the animals so we can have more food.
Just applying RW logic, or leap of logic as it were.
What exactly are conservatives conserving?

i.e. provide an alternative.
In the energy business, this means developing alternate energy forms.
Which is why we need to elect Obama and a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate.
