Why does AOL have so many bigots? |
|
In a poll they have posted, 46% say they are not ready for a black president. Are you personally ready for a black president? Yes 54% No 46% Link: http://news.aol.com/elections/story/_a/poll-finds-obama-still-faces-racial-gap/20080716092109990001

1. Because AOL takes in a lot of low intelligence suckers |
|
Really now, you can't be too bright to get sucked into AOL. And lack of intelligence is also accompanied by a lack of tolerance.

5. It's not AOL, it's the whole country |
|
and this is a theme that I have been talking about for a while. It seems to me that we are dangerously underestimating racism as a factor in this election.
People who have never voted or almost never voted are going to be inspired to vote to keep "those kind" out of office.

6. Because AOL was, for many years, for those unable to master the basics |
|
of IE or, later, Mozilla.
It was an all-in-one package for techno luddites.
Most folks have branched out and removed themselves from AOHell. There are others who love to nestle in dark dank nether regions of easy to find chat rooms and pablum news and suckle at the teat of inanity. This is why AOL remains the bastion of backward thinking and bigotry.

7. AOL provides the easiest portal to the net |
|
for people who can't cope with things like real browsers and IRC for chat. Those dimwits tend to be quite conservative and afraid of any change lest it provide even minor inconvenience.
Everything is spoonfed. It's the perfect portal for total idiots, and as we well know, idiots are generally conservative.

Oh, dear, I'm on AOL and I'm a liberal democrat and I don't think I'm a total idiot. I've also been on Democratic Underground almost since it started. I found it during the dark days of the 2000 election. Well, I may be with AOL but I'm not fond of the Olive Garden will that get me back in your good graces?

8. Jesus fucking christ, are you joking? This isn't a poll of AOL users |
|
The "AOL News" website is simply hosting an article from the New York Times, linked within; http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/16/us/politics/16poll.html?_r=3&hp=&adxnnl=1&oref=slogin&adxnnlx=1216231634-UFeisDLbMBErqMx1OHhJ2AIt is a legitimate NYT/CBS opinion poll, random, conducted via phone. Not a poll of AOL.com users. Please, people, follow the steps in order; 1. Think. 2. Post.

12. The AOL page mentions and links to the Times article |
|
but the poll on the page regarding whether or not people are 'personally ready for a black president', whatever that's supposed to mean, is indeed an AOL poll.

9. They also have a boat load of Freepers. |
|
Just about every poll they do comes out pro-repuke and conservative. Their comments sections on their new articles are also filled with neocon idiots. I don't think it just the overpriced services. I think AOL attracts these kind of people for some reason. Is it offered free in Libraries or other free access sites? Just wondering.

Is loaded with racists. I don't know why. I do think it is because they are mostly people who can afford more things and haven't seen a black person since their grandparents owned one.
