2. Yes, I think warnings mean one is imminent ... on the way.

But it's sunny here still.... I'm sure as the sun starts to get low in the sky,

the T-Storms will pop up. It rained here last night, but I didn't know it until later.

I was napping. ;) I woke up later in the evening and decided to go to the store and had

left my car windows cracked. My driver's seat was wet. Ugh! I'm ready this time!! :D

STANDISH, Maine (AP) ― Jul 19, 2008 12:07 pm US/Eastern

Lightning strikes during a storm that rolled through
the North Shore in Wenham, Mass., Friday evening. WBZ

Authorities have identified the man and woman killed when struck by lightning outside their home in Standish.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says the victims were 22-year-old Anthony Clarke
and 28-year-old Krysta Bearor. Their names were released Saturday after relatives were notified.

Officials said three small children were at home Friday evening when lightning struck.

Investigators said Clarke and Bearor had gone outside to retrieve a pair of eyeglasses the family
dog had taken from one of the children.

The lightning deaths were the 19th and 20th recorded this year by the National Weather Service.

5. oh, I did the same thing last weekend - 4 windows plus sunroof
I ran some errands Saturday morning, left the windows open to keep the car cool for later errands. Decided to wait on later errands to do on Saturday (saving gas and all). Didn't occur to me when we had a thunderstorm with downpour on Saturday afternoon...

Thank goodness the weather was dry and sunny and hot for a few days after so I could leave the car open again to dry.

12. Hi, rox! I was just admiring my little AC unit! I have it
in my bedroom and usually keep the door shut, as it's a small 5000 BTU AC window unit but I had forgotten I left the door open when I left for the grocery store this morning and when I got back, even the downstairs was at 77 degree's!! It was hot down there when I left... 82 degree's. I have all the shades pulled down and all the windows closed to keep out the humidity and it seems to be working. I can't believe that one little AC unit is cooling the whole house but I'm glad it ist!! :D

18. I've just got a 2-bdrm condo, and all the windows face south
I get a lot of sunlight all day. So I don't feel that bad about using the AC. It's an upstairs unit, so it can get pretty hot in here. But it's also really inexpensive to heat in the winter. So it all balances out.

14. We had a pretty loud storm in my part of Maine. We lost power but only because
a tree that was already down on the lines went further down. Fortunately, CMP came out and fixed that but they still need to take down all kinds of branches up and down this road. You can't even see the lines anymore for all the trees.

17. I think we got it back so fast because no one else had any trouble. I was actually
happy about the storm, though. It had been weeks since we'd gotten any decent amount of rain.
