Has anyone read the new book by Vincent Bugliosi (sp) |
|
titled "The Prosecution of George W Bush for Murder"? I just reserved it from the library and wondered if it lives up to the title?

Bugliosi (pronounced boo-lee-OH-see; the 'g' is silent)
No but it's on my list - I've read several of his books, including the one where he made the case against the supreme court, and they've all been awesome :)

Yes. The book is very interesting. You will learn about the applicable law. The book did bring up one issue that I have always wondered why this issue was never discussed. The book noted that Bush was never held responsible for 9/11. In fact, the right wing tried to blame Clinton. Clinton at least tried to get Bin Laden. Bush completely ignored the threat. Bush did not do everythning he could have done to prevent 9/11. He did not react well on 9/11. Yet the American public gave Bush a 90% approval rating. They also thought he was great at fighting terror when, in fact, he could not have done a worse job.

3. Obama should consider Bugliosi for AG, in my opinion |
|
I don't think he has ever lost a case, as a prosecutor, but I could be wrong about that.

I can always count on fellow Duers. I'm #45 on the list, so it may be awhile before I get a chance. I did read the book about the Supreme Court decision re: Jones V Clinton where Bugliosi savages them for ruling in favor of Jones.

Vince makes some very good points.
The best point is the Bush people never said we were in "imminent" danger. They said we were in big danger. Really Big danger. REALLY,would I lie to you,BIG DANGER. But never "imminent" danger.
"Imminent" carries legal weight. The word means something. It allows you to use self defense. Like in police shootings. They use that rational a lot. It also means you have to prove the "imminent danger". Like the police do when they shoot someone.
You just can't "go with your gut". You just can't "have a feeling" we are about to be attacked. You have to have provable ...y'know facts.
Unfortunately Vince hardly brings this up when he is interviewed. And he seems to get distracted a lot making him really bad TV.
The rest of the book is written like he is YELLING at you. I had to put it down halfway thru the back notes. I dread to think what the audio version is like.
