I'm so damn miserable!!!! My home made the update. The office was already listed.
These storms are getting more and more vicious.

Several homes were hit by lightning, and were burned to the ground.

I NEED A SHOWER!!!!!

DeKalb residents must boil water up to 2 days
Storm knocked out power to water plant

A boil water advisory that has been in effect for much of DeKalb County since Tuesday night will continue for one to two days, DeKalb officials said.

The water advisory was announced after one of the county's water plants lost power during Tuesday night's storms.

The DeKalb County Health Department is asking residents in Avondale, Chamblee, Decatur and Doraville to boil water for at least three minutes before drinking, bathing, washing or cooking.

The power loss occurred at the Scott Candler Water Plant around 6:50 p.m., said DeKalb health department spokeswoman Vickie Elisa. A loss of pressure leaves the plant's supply vulnerable to disease-causing bacteria. Elisa said that probably did not occur Tuesday night, as full power was restored soon after the outage.

"This is merely a precautionary measure," she said.

The following zip codes fall under the advisory: 30319, 30030, 30340, 30341, 30345, 30033, 30329, 30084, 30087, 30083, 30333, 30002, 30307, 30306, 30079, 30021, 30032 and 30088.

7. You can probably shower in it
unless you've got deep cuts. Those need to be covered.

Keep a container of boiled and cooled water in the bathroom for brushing your teeth, though. You're not going to want to use potentially buggy water for that.

Intact skin provides an adequate barrier for most nasties. What you don't want to do is drink any of them until you boil them to death.

14. be VERY careful washing your face
my older brother does a lot of overseas business travel, and yes, he can shower in places where the water isn't very clean, but he needs to be very careful not to inadvertently let any water break the skin.

Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 09:06 PM by fascisthunter
We have crazy thunder and lighting storms, small, fast and very destructive. They don't last long, but they pack a real whollup.

Had tornado warnings in parts of Massachusetts. Weather is crazy in New England this summer... I think it's been crazy everywhere.

24. State of emergency as storms slam N.H.
In Epsom, N.H., where a tornado warning was issued over the lunch hour, powerful winds damaged 50 to 100 homes and knocked down power lines and trees, said Mary Frambach, a volunteer at the Epsom Fire Department. A shelter has been set up at a town elementary school.
