World must stop Iran from getting nuclear weapon, says Barack Obama
Rory McCarthy in Jerusalem guardian.co.uk,
Wednesday July 23, 2008

Barack Obama today pledged his "unshakeable commitment to Israel's security" after a day of meetings with Israel's most senior leaders and a helicopter flight to a town targeted by rockets from Gaza.

Most of the talks on his visit were dominated by the Israeli government's concern over Iran's nuclear ambitions — a concern echoed by the Democratic presidential candidate. "A nuclear Iran would pose a grave threat and the world must prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon," Obama said.(snip)

On Iran, he tried to offer the Israelis reassurance: "I will take no options off the table in dealing with this potential Iranian threat. A nuclear Iran would be a game-changing situation not just in the Middle East but around the world."

Well, at least he still has things on his table.

1. Well, atleast he says "the world" and not just the U.S.
I like how he worded that.

2. Personally, I think the NPT is a dead document at this point. If Iran gets them, I say let them.
Maybe if both sides had nuclear weapons, they would be less willing to get into a war that could get both killed. Sort of like the US and the USSR.

4. Maybe, just maybe if the United States would quit threating and intimidating other countries
they wouldn't feel they would need nuclear weapons to defend themselves. Ya think? Maybe?

We are like the school yard bully that wonders why the other kids feel the need to defend themselves or even gang up on us, U.S.
