Better late than never. But I would like to see that followed up with criminal prosecution once he's out of office. That should happen whether he's impeached or not.

but, I would like the visit to the Hague to follow some time in the US Court System for not only the war crimes trials but all the other darling things the Esteemed Mr. Bush and his mad cap band of rascals have been up to these last few years.

14. it has absolutely nothing to do with criminal prosecution |
|
impeachment and removal are basically just getting fired from your job, which doesn't protect anyone from prosecution.

evidence.
It's unclear to me whether such broad public disclosers of information, particularly information publicized from committee hearings, would be deemed prejudicial to a "fair trial."

18. as the oj simpson case proved, you can always find an ill-informed jury |
|
it just takes going though an awful lot of potential jurors.
then again, that case also showed that ill-informed jurors are easily bamboozled....
it is also true that should congress, in their infinite wisdom, grant various immunities in exchange for testimony (ala north/poindexter), that could hamper a subsequent criminal trial.
but, impeachment and removal don't actually require much of anything. congress can impeach and remove without any evidence at all. or, they could just cite stuff that's publically available.

12. I'll Take It Anytime... |
|
Just because those crooks are out of the White House doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't be impeached...have the record set straight and hold them accountable for their political crimes...and hopefully after 1/20/09 we'll have a larger Democratic majority and the ability to finally being to dig into the many, many crimes that have gone on over the last 7 1/2 years.
More important is that not just boooshie & cheney are held responsible (just to see them have to be accountable is a dream come true), but all the criminals in this regime...and not just prosecuted for their political crimes, but their crimes against humanity. Anyone who saw Jane Meyer on David Letterman last night just heard the tip of the iceburg as to the war crimes that must be investigated and rectified...without it, our national character and international standing will never be restored.
Cheers...

Impeachment is merely the indictment part of the process.
Then comes the trial and removal from office.
Last day? Makes no odds.

Preferably right after the new congress is sworn in. Impeach in less than 48 hours and don't give him time to issue his blanket pardons to the rest of the cabal.
