Tomas Young update

Received via one of my VFP emails:

Just saw Tomas and his mama Cathy at the rehab institute. Tomas is looking and feeling much better, stronger than last week in K.C. Cathy's feeling better, too. Their strength and resilience shames me, with my tired old ass. They are just absolutely fanfuckintastic and inspirational all-to-be-damned great people..... to put it mildly.

Tomas is anxious to get to work, and he's got his mind right. He's eating, and his voice is stronger. His wit is sharp as hell, and his sense of humor is STRONG -- just like every-damn-body I know, he makes fun of me, dammit!!

He may be ready for short visits from one or 2 people at a time starting Thursday. He said to tell VFP and VVAW and IVAW and everybody else to give'em hell in D.C. the next few days; to tell'em Tomas says, "IMPEACH!!"

The VA reversed themselves and paid for his trip here. They had to be shamed into doing that. When Tomas is ready, we're gonna raise serious hell about all the shit he has gone through..... when HE is ready. I'll take Cathy to the airport tomorrow, and she'll be back here again next week. She has housing and transportation (and meals) available here. We got some incredible people in Chicago (y'know, not like me)!! Tomas will NOT be forgotten!!
