One dead after crane collapse in southwest Oklahoma City

An 80-year-old man is dead after a crane collapsed this morning on a car near SW 134 and Interstate 44, authorities said.

He was one of two people in the car when the crane fell on it, forcing emergency personnel to cut them out of the vehicle at 11300 Straka Farms Road.

Deputy Chief Cecil Clay said workers were putting the steeple on a church under construction when the crane collapsed at about 10 a.m.
