Are neo con icons inciting violence against liberals, yes or no?
Are they putting ideas into the heads of the small percentage of unstable individuals to deliberately send them over the edge into violent action, or am I just paranoid again?

1. I say yes... An increase in anti-liberal violence is the necessary
next step in the imposition of the lock-down state.

2. Yes
Some of them, Michael Reagan for example, say both to kill liberals and blame liberals for all of life's problems.

No doubt there will be a wacko who will take that to heart once in a while.

4. "Godless: The Church of Liberalism"; "Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder"...
"Deliver Us from Evil: Defeating Terrorism, Despotism, and Liberalism"
"Persecution: How Liberals Are Waging War Against Christianity"
"Bankrupt: The Intellectual and Moral Bankruptcy of Today's Democratic Party"
"Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism"

Before the hate radio is turned on, before Fox begins its daily barriage of propaganda, a quick trip down the virtual aisles of amazon or B&N reveals the fomenting of anger and resentment that the right wing has been working on for decades now.

And that's THE one common emotion that right wingers share -- impotent anger. Anger directed at liberals, at immigrants, at gays, at public schools, at just about any entity but themselves. In the right-wing mind, it's always someone else's fault: "Those ___________ are stealing my ___________." "If it weren't for those damned _________, this'd be a good country." "Don't believe that ________________ trash, they'll say anything to protect their _____________."

Ann Coulter has many times said, "Imagine a world without liberals." You don't have to be a genius to figure out where talk like that's going to lead.

7. Are you surprised by this same group of people who respect and
support George W Bush and Dick Cheney? Two selfish evil men who lied over and over and made up fake reasons to start a war in Iraq in which thousands have been killed and wounded.

These supporters of the neocons won't EVER do any of the fighting or the risk taking themselves, but they are always looking for someone that they can fool and USE. There is a fool born every minute and people like the neocons count on that. Some of these Bushbots believe EVERYTHING the top dogs say without question. Like the "Good Nazis" once did.

9. I've seen it before.
Goebbels and the Nazi Party would send their messages constantly to Members. And their plan was to incite violence by "the masses" versus government directive. So, a Jewish shop would be attacked, destroyed by a mob and the government would proclaim it was the work of "angry Germans" whose anger was justified. The Jewish shop owner who had insurance would be denied payment for his losses.

Individuals would also be attacked by "angry Germans".

Unless the tone of rightwing hate radio/TV is balanced, critiqued, condemned, more of the UU shootings may well occur.

12. Absolutely.
They know exactly what they are saying and they know the effect that it will have on the more unstable members of their target audience. They intentionally sow the seeds of hatred and rage.

To answer your question though I would say yes but that is only based on what I read here as I don't listen to any of them at all.

16. They certainly are
Their daily radio and TV shows, books, newspaper columns, tons of airtime on others' shows without the other side getting a chance to speak...it all contributes to the atmosphere of hate we are seeing.

17. They do stand behind violence as the answer to all issues
The way they call negotiation "appeasement" and take an all or nothing stance. It doesn't matter how much the US is hated, because the US is physically the strongest. So it would be easy for their nuttier followers to make the leap from countries to individuals.

18. Call It A Chain Reaction...
I don't think the hate radio goons want to incite violence as much as create a "violent reaction"...a viseral, not a physical one. Or at least that's how it was originally intended. Demonizing people has always been a tool of the right wing...from the Red Scare through McCarthy and then into their golden age of Rushbo and hate radio. Issues simplified, strawman used and demons created...and in this case the superdemon is the dreaded "librul" (akin to the 1950's "Commie"). The picture has been developed and refined over the years...and then it became a can you top this contest.

Hate radio is a competitive world...the squeakiest wheels get the "grease"...like a Rushbo or O'Reilly. The way to get that grease is to go "one-up" on the others...come up with a buzzword or outrage and hope others pick up on it. It's finding a victim or target that they can flail at...the Clintons were their favorite targets...adding more lies and inuendo...it became a cottage industry that still generates ratings and money.

No, I don't think it's about violence as much as it is about money and influence. It's "stirring the blood"...but once it goes out there, how a listener interprets is another story. I'm sure we'll find the shooter had a lot of other problems...long neglected...hate radio was just one of his many demons.
