30. Hi, Kensington!
I don't want to minimize the serious tone of this thread, but I just wanted to say I lived in Kensington from 1976-1979. Lived on Adams Ave. just down from the Ken Theater.

Hope you're all safe! :hi:

32. That's near where I live.
I live 1 block north of Adams, just about a 5-minute walk from the Ken Theater. They finally replaced the seats in the Ken after 50 years.

28. Yes, this was the strongest quake since the Northridge "big one".
All quiet here now... eerily quiet for noontime L.A.

Hope no one has been hurt or lost their homes...

33. I'm in downtown and there are firetrucks and stuff everywhere
I guess they have to be because of the tall buildings. But it's the antithesis of eerily quiet for me.

23. I got a call from my son just after,
to ask me to check for the epicenter for him, to see if he was headed toward or away. He was on a freeway overpass when it hit.

Heading into L.A. from Orange County.

He called me, 1000 miles away, because the phone lines weren't working where his friends are.

34. CNN just reported that it's been downgraded to 5.4 mag.
Water main breaks, cell phone tower problems, nothing major so far. Twenty-plus aftershocks since the initial quake.
