Has anyone heard of this? Microsoft launched a new marketing website to try to convince people that they really do like Vista after all. People who claim they hate Vista are shown the "new" MS operating system called Mojave and after they tell the interviewer how much they absolutely adore Mojave, they're told that it's actually Vista instead! (cue the laugh track) :eyes:
I'm no expert, but wouldn't it be better to actually improve Vista instead of wasting money on marketing tactics that pretty much insult the intelligence of those of us who have legitimate reasons for disliking Vista? I'm starting to buy into the Mac hype at this point...something I never thought I would say.

they need to understand that some of us have actually seen Vista and didn't like it.
Or more properly 'worked' with it, as its not the look that is the issue..... a conveinient thing for marketing people to overlook.

2. When Vista came out you needed a high-end computer to run it |
|
That was where the problems started, everything was slow and choppy if you upgraded to it on the computer you already had. Any computer you buy nowadays has more than enough power to run the operating system, but if you try and install it on a 4 year old computer, it's still going to give you those same problems.
I think people heard a lot of bad things about it a few years ago, but right now I think it's a great OS, and I'm a Mac user :) I think they're trying to expand on the idea that on a computer with new hardware, Vista really is a better option.

3. As a networking support tech |
|
I love working with Vista.
Why?
because one command fixes almost everything networking-wise that is wrong with it:
netsh int tcp set global disabled disabled disabled

4. Vista, on a new machine, is not a bad OS. |
|
Yes, you can compare it unfavorably to the features of X & Y, but a lack of performance or features doesn't make an OS bad, it simply makes it less appealing.
The technical issues with Vista have pretty much all been resolved at this point. Here in the office, I converted my primary PC to Vista a few months ago, , one of my laptops to Vista about six months ago, and my other laptop to Vista shortly after it was released. I have kept one XP machine around just in case I need to deal with something that won't play well with Vista, but so far that hasn't been the case. At the college, we recently moved to Vista as the official desktop OS a few months ago.
Like all MS products, we just had to wait for a service pack. The current distribution isn't bad.
