2. The problem with for profit nursing homes. |
|
the profit. Corporate will eliminate anything to save a few dollars. My mom worked in nursing homes her whole life. She has numerous stories about the suits cutting things that improve the quality of life. To them the perfect nursing home resident is one who does not live long. They love to find ways to make the place more depressing.
They would prefer that a resident live a long time when they can mostly take care of themselves and aren't that sick and then die quickly when they become totally dependent on nursing for their every need. depressing surroundings and boredom accomplish this goal.

4. all of them are the same |
|
I do not know the particular company you speak of but they all try to do the same things.
Ever bigger patient loads for the nurses. Ever longer hours for the nurses. They will cut back quality of life programs without a second thought. They will do what it takes to pass state survey and no more. They treat nurses, patients, office staff and family like they are nothing.
Sorry about your sister. Jobs are hard to come by these days. They probably cut her job because they are always looking for ways to reduce the people on the payroll. Nurses have been working per diem for years so that no benefits are paid to them.
