We know this from the news coverage.

I can't believe anyone is talking about anything except a missing white female, because even though we all know she's dead, and even though we know she's just another one of many, many victims of abusive parents, we cannot talk about anything else until her remains are found.

These stories are tragic, but they're common. The only things that make this one uncommon are she's white and she's unaccounted for.

The anthrax suicide is a huge story and important news. It should be covered much better, but when there's a missing white female in America, that story is going to be obsessed over by the news readers on cable news shows.
