And I just heard on CNN radio news that Ivans was making threats in 2000 ....
then why in the hell was he working in bio-weapons and on the anthrax cases?

2. The quote is from a counselor that is being called a therapist.
I've yet to find a doctor's name or affiliation even though Duley, the counselor, claims to be quoting him/her.

10. Repeat, Duley is quoting somebody else (Ivins's therapist, supposedly)
But because it's in a restraining order which is a public record, this hearsay is available to the press to discredit Ivins. How convenient that the restraining order was issued--a few days ago, even though the guy was supposedly dangerous for years, according to the hearsay. If i were setting up a fake suicide, that would be a sweet gambit.

11. Yes, she quotes the doctor but she also seems to embellish
on her own. Nicely timed, isn't it.

3. I think expectations of confidentiality
expire when the person does.

6. I thought that "the estate" of the person also covers medical records ..
... and as such confidentiality remains intact.

5. If the patient is a danger to themselves or others ....
Edited on Sun Aug-03-08 01:15 PM by The empressof all
If the patient is a danger to themselves or others (as judged by the treating professional) the therapist, counselor or MD has a legal obligation to report to the authorities. There really is no hard and fast confidentiality in treatment now a days. It's important to read the fine print of any treatment agreement you sign with your Mental Health Provider. (That is if they even offer you one.) Treatment records are subject to subpoena (even after the death of the patient) and most of the time the treatment professional will not contest it.

7. Duley is a B.A. in Social Work, not a doctor
The real question is what was a B.A. in Social Work, specialty in addictions doing involved in this case. Was Ivins a narcotic addict?
