Oh bliss: The media is trumpeting that ONLY 11 soldiers were killed in Iraq last month

I was listening to CNN radio news which presented the "good news" that only 11 soldiers were killed in Iraq in July! Happy Days are here again!!

Only 11 more young lives lost for a lie not to mention the number of Iraqis who were killed, which apparently doesn't matter.

what must the loved ones of these people be thinking when their deaths are trumpeted as a triumph? just another example (today seems to be full of them) of how upfuckingside down things are in bushworld, opposite world.

if these deaths are not cause for grief and sorrow, as are every single one of them, it is demonstrated that as a culture, the US has slid still lower on its slippery slope. when do we begin to go up? how soon can we collectively mourn the waste and the suffering and work meaningfully to end it and right ourselves?

i am grateful that i don't listen to that crap. reading it on DU day in day out is getting to be harder and harder to take when i feel so powerless to affect it at all.
