As a pickup truck driver, Keith and Gene are making excellent points
towards how tire air pressure does count towards getting better gas mileage.

I think it resonates with a great deal of Americans too.

3. They should point out that normal folks know about this

While elites like McCain never get grease on their hands, those of us that have to work on our own vehicles understand the point about tire pressure. McCain is coming off like an elite rich guy while Obama is speaking to those of us that have been working own our own cars since we were 16.

I'd show some average guy with the hood up on his car. He'd bend down and check the air pressure, get up and wipe his hands on a greasy rag. Then he'd turn to the camera and say something like checking like..."Checking my tire pressure and maintaining my car saves me money during fill ups. I know about it. Nascar drivers know about it. When a rich guy like John McCain makes fun of me for doing it, I just look at where he's coming from. He's taking millions in donations from the oil companies. He doesn't have to get his hands greasy like me, they're already dirty."

13. Excellent!
Maybe you could send it to the Obama campaign, maybe nudge them a little??? I'd sure like to see that as an ad.

2. It also doesn't make sense to a lot of people.
The Repukes are using this as a way to lampoon Obama, and for a lot of people it will work.

Democrats need to give up on the idea that actually being correct is enough. They need to start getting cut-throat. Anytime a repuke gets on the air with this tire guage bullshit, they need to start tearing them apart about being ignorant or worse (whores working for oil money), and start calling McCain an elitist that probably can't even check his tire pressure.

Above all, we need to start getting MEAN. I don't want to lose another election because our upstanding ideals won't let us attack.

4. Absolutely. The Blood-thirsty Wing of the Democratic Party
needs to take over the message for a while.

6. No all this needs is a few good ads with one theme
the rich oil men are laughing at you as you take sound advice and save gas money.

Same ole games they played with Carter after his Crisis of Confidence speech.

9. Attacking McCain's senility would work. Use his war record against him,
as in "McCain has PTSD from being tortured so many times while heroically waiting for his release for the Hanoi Hilton." Backhand the son-of-a-bitch.

7. I admit I wasn't aware that it really made a difference, I'm glad Obama mentioned it
I will make sure to keep my tires regularly inflated, and not just when I go on long trips.

8. Really?
I learned that long ago -- before I even bought a pickup.

10. Well I've been basically not driving most of the year since I went off to college
And it's probably one of those things dad told me when I was in high school but I was too stubborn to listen to at the time.
