Does it feel like Bush's house of cards is beginning to come down? |
|
It just seems like we have some momentum right now. Maybe the Dems are behind the scenes building their case for impeachment and it's starting to bear fruit? Perhaps it's the beginning of the end for these bastards?
Yes? No? Maybe?

14. That matters how? And do you mean the public or congress? |
|
If you're talking about congressional votes, you'll notice that the GOP can still herd its members effectively.

16. I wasn't thinking in terms of his numbers |

A lot of presidents have survived low approval ratings. I was talking about him finally fucking himself out of D.C., which is what I assumed the OP meant.

but all those previous times we didn't have the power of oversight so I'm allowing myself a little leeway..

|
The freakin' repukes in Congress should go too. They aided and abetted the criminal regime. The more the Dems dig, the worse it's going to get. I am expecting a terrorist attack....MIHOP.

9. Yeah.. feeling pretty good about Waxman tonight |
|
Fitzgerald has agreed to meet with him that's gotta be good news. The righties seem horribly desperate, they are saying and making up the most outrageous things to try to compete with the avalanche of corruption and apathy that is being exposed. Hopefully the Dems in Washington can feel the momentum as well and capitalize on it.

I'm a "half glass full" kinda guy and everyday I feel a little more hopeful that the whole shitty cabal is in it's last throes, to use one of their terms. Also heard something about Waxman saying it's "showtime" earlier today.

I've been around DU for awhile now, it's been a fantastic source of ammo for me to use when I come in contact with my nutcase brother in law. I learn more when my mouth is shut so my post count is pretty low. I'm the perpetual new guy LOL!

12. Yes. He's at his weakest ever, and the trendlines are still going down. |
|
Reality is Swiss-cheesing his standing with the Congress. The people have already turned away, mostly owing to Iraq, but also because I think they're sick of his petulant fake cowboy bullshit.
Cheney is monstrous. Rice shimmies and shakes and lies through her teeth. Rumsfeld thought he'd do a drive-thru war and got creamed, losing thousands of lives in the process.
And even a few slug-headed members of the mainstream media are getting the message that not two years ago they were pimping for these monsters, and the change is evident in the coverage.
It's going to be a real long and bitter finish to a bad administration.

When Nixon finally fell, he had alienated even many Republicans, so they just let him fall. Non-extremist Repubs need to wake up and smell the treason.

I'm not sure what exactly, but it appears there are too many brush fires springing up all at the same time for the spin machine to deal with.

19. It can take years to build a case |
|
Too many people want the Dems to put the cart in front of the horse but they have to slowly build their case and cover every base. Bush may be out of office before any trials start.
Can you imagine actually seeing Bush and Cheney in Prison? That would make my whole life worth living. Just for that moment!

20. Maybe not. This is the way things are supposed to be. |
|
I've never seen an administration with as little Congressional oversight as Bush's has had.
Now that we're having a normal degree of oversight, it feels as if his administration is collapsing. I guess only time will tell. I certainly hope you're right.

It feels like things are getting harder for him to accomplish but I think Bush is just settling in to weasel his way out of major trouble by giving in on little things.
If that makes sense.
He's a Bush...there's a catch. If you know what I mean.
