Kookie ROBERTS -- proof that headstart advantages in life can go BUST!1
I was flipping between MTP and This Weak and they were doing their best to pretend not to want to discuss EDWARDS. BROKAW did an interminably terminal interview with Shrub's Treasury dude (yes, he met with OBAMA but, no, doesn't want to continue in an OBAMA administration).

Then Tom skeedaddled out o'there and left the dirty job to GREGORY, who led a panel of the living dead--BRODER ("celebrating" his 400th appearance on MTP), Paul GIGOT, he of the creepy eyes, and E.J.DIONNE. Their whispers from Death's Door were so faint, I can't even remember what they said.

Then there was Kookie. Georgie was off, the TAPPER dude subbing. The Tori Rumsfeld-Pentagon woman was there.

So Kookie starts off saying that OBAMA made a HUGH!1 mistake in taking vacation in HAWAII!1 She claims that she KNOWS it's part of the U.S.A, *and* that his grandmother lives there, BUT that it is too EXOTIC for the vast underprivileged unwashed of the U.S.A., that he "should have gone to Myrtle Beach."

This from a person who grew up in the lap of political luxury, power, and prestige. She has since gone on to side with the fattest of the fat cats while grinding her heels on anybody attempting to speak for the downtrodden.

The Tori (SPELLING is smarter) person said that she knows little people who consider extra-marital sex "a deal breaker," such that she cannot understand what the appeal is for the wives of politicians to "stand by their man".

Before anybody says it, I stepped into the muck---what did I expect?!1

trouble coming up with a reason to be either. She's paid to provide an opinion so she did, which is her viewpoint. If you watch the news you can't expect every commentator to kiss your ass or share your viewpoint.

4. If an extramarital affair happened say
30 years ago, is that OK now? Or only recent dalliances are fodder for the gasbag shows? C'mon you pundits, let's talk about everybody's affairs, not just the "D" affairs.

6. Still pushing the EXOTIC theme
I was so disgusted that I turned it off ... of course, what did I expect turning it on? I actually was hoping to see if anyone was on the panel who would have the guts to bring up McCain's sexual escapades. Answer, no!

8. Cokie is so lazy
Edited on Sun Aug-10-08 09:37 AM by GoesTo11
She seems to never have any primary source information. She doesn't research. She seems to watch a little TV, read a couple of papers. From these, she selects few factoids and a few cliches to support whatever point George Will told her to make that day. No logical analysis. Her favorite phrases seem to be "it's a he-said/she-said" situation and "it's case of 'a pox on both your houses"' to convolute the statements of a liar and statements of the truth. There is no right or wrong, it's all about the "horse-race."

10. Kookie is such a devious and at the same time surprisingly stupid corporate stooge.
Obama should have gone to Myrtle Beach? That is her concept of how the poor in the United States spend their summer vacations, assuming they are lucky enough to have a vacation at all? And she thinks Obama is out of touch?

"He should be in Myrtle Beach" ..... "The race is tied."

She's one of the most out-of-touch, intellectually lazy, and flat goofy pundits out there. She rarely says anything that makes much sense. She should have retired long ago. Honestly, sometimes I feel dumber just for listening to her.

15. Most of us real people
would be too embarrassed to be so blatantly hypocritical. But those in the Washington bubble have no qualms about saying anything regardless of whether it is true or whether it jibes with their own lives. I've had some truck with Texas politics, but Washington has to have the nastiest sleaze masters in the world.

17. speaking of politicians wives that "stand by their man"
Last night was a repeat of MadTV. Starts with an Obama/Oprah duet. Kinda funny. But theres a wonderfully sad skit of a politician standing at the podium confessing, and the wife next to him. We've seen it play out to many times, this skit nails it!
