Of scandal and hypocrisy
There is a long running thread detailing all the Republican sex Scandals. Larry Craig is still in congress. People really ought to let off John Edwards. He isn't the first guy to shack up with another woman, and he isn't the first politician to be unfaithful. Somebody needs to tell all those who are faining outrage at Edwards to to shut the hell up.

1. Bush is still President.

We're not Republicans. If it were up to me, Larry "The Tapper" Craig would have been at minimum censured for the theatrics he engaged in after being exposed. Is he sorry? No. I hope he loses his seat.

People tend to want a punitive consequence attached to lying. For Edwards, he needed to issue a sincere apology. He didn't come off as sincere. He also has to live with criticism for extremely poor judgment.

For Bush, it should be a war crimes trial. Again, if it were up to me, he'd be on his way to the Hague.

Did anyone really expect that Edwards' exposure for lying would be met with a shrug?

Yeah, let's run on change, and then try to excuse away everything with "Republicans do it too."

4. but
If he were a democrat, all the right wing nut jobs would have been screaming for him to resign, but they are letting him finish his term. When it comes to sex scandals, if you have an "R" at the end of your name, all shall, in time, be forgiven

5. So you're saying
Democrats should learn to accept lying, ignore it because Republicans do?

6. no
I'm saying a guy had an affair - its not our business, nor should we care, it has nothing to do with his ability to lead. I'm saying that the Republicans who have a problem with this are only doing it because he is a democrat.

7. Im outraged

And Im not going to shut the hell up until John Edwards is a VERY DISTANT memory of the Democratic Party. The quicker we can have him forgotten the better. He's a LIAR...

The fact you actually used LARRY fucking Criag in an argument FOR John Edwards makes my case for me. Maybe it's you who should shut the hell up lest you give this vapid suit even less cred.

9. *rolls eyes*
Have you ever lied. I suspect you have. As Edwards said "I'm imperfect" - everybody is imperfect and its insane to believe our politicians are perfect.

I hate Larry Craig & everything he represents - I don't give a shit that he tried to do another guy in the bathroom, his hypocrisy is my problem with the scandal.

10. imperfect
"Listen, she understands what I understand which is that I am imperfect and anybody, anybody watching this broadcast or who hears about this who wants to beat me up for this, they should have at it. The truth is you can't possibly beat me up more than I have already beaten myself up." John Edwards

"I'm not gay" Larry Craig

Lets focus our attention at the hypocrites who work to destroy the lives of GLBT people, yet secretly practice it themselves, and not pay any attention to a guy who cheated on his wife with another woman (something that has been going on since the dawn of "marriage")
