Evidently Condi took the job with the provision that she didn't
have to show up to actually perform the task attendant TO the job.

Nice work if you can get it.

1. I wish more of the Cabinet would follow her lead.
Imagine how much better off we would be if none of BushCo's flunkies turned up for their jobs.

The woman is allegedly "a Russian expert" and has decided to sit out the current crisis.

Puzzlin' evidence.

3. Her "expertise" seems a bit shaky, too, given...
...that it would seem to be a prerequisite of a "Russian Expert" that one actually speaks Russian fluently. Otherwise, how did she get her expertise: from Cliffski Notes?

6. Beats me what's up with ol' Condi.
She advanced in applied piano to a respectable point in the repertoire but then bailed out, reportedly because the young men and young women also studying had more instinctive talent or more drive.

Then she fell in with the Big Oil cartel and the Bush family, but I repeat myself.

4. She is a worthless piece of crap.
On her watch as National Security Adviser we had the worst breach of our national security in history. She should have resigned then and there! As Sec of State she has been an embarrassment.

7. Her "performance" before the 9/11 Commission, no matter what one
thought of the Commission itself, was an abomination, and her appearances before Senate Committees have been invariably sleazy.

She's a woman of some strong will but there's no There there to justify its force.

I have a very sharp and appreciate recall of John Kerry's face when he was questioning her. She shriveled before him and went into her fart-in-a-whirlwind act to dodge every question he asked, every point he made.

8. mediocrity is just too lofty a goal for ANYONE in the Bush administration...
...to aspire to. Every one of them has been an abject failure-- except possibly Cheney, who is an evil genius who's actually enjoying the destruction of U.S. principles of governance.

9. Agree. When you're starting with people like Condoleezza Rice and
Harriet Miers and Michael Brown, mediocrity really is far too high to set the bar.

14. Hey there. Good to see you.
We've been busy. Four or five days of the week we're drinking and wenching our way through the countryside, leaving the weekends for NASCAR and Yo Yo Ma.

Hope all's well your way. We got us an election comin' up, looks like. I'm hoping for a REAL blue map.

NASCAR, no.

And also -- Emmylou Harris's new CD. It's terrific. If you have some spending money left, maybe give it a whirl.

16. Look At The Entire "Cabinet" In the Second Term...
Anyone who had a gumption of independence or a conscience was sacked...only those who were "true believers" or toadies apply. Over at DOJ, Asscroft was getting "weak" when he didn't approve torture and illegal wiretapping...and was replaced by Gonzo...the ultimate toadie. At State, Powell, who was never on the "team" was getting a bit too "uppity" as well...expressing his reservations privately that just wouldn't be tolerated...Kindasleezy was the prefect toadie for that job...and her mission was to neuter the State Department...all the decisions would come out of the Executive (specifically the OVP) and all she had to do was look pretty and do as told.

I'm sure as far as the booooshies are concerned, Kindasleezy has done a great job. When this regime makes a mess, she is sent in front of the cameras to smile and try to "gee shucks" it away. She never had any real power or authority...and that seems to fit her just fine.

18. Yep. A glance down the roster of the second Bush administration
and you've got the entire profile.

The majority are place-setters -- still-life mediocrities -- and the few who are actually competent are darkly evil.

Let's have the election tomorrow. I'm ready.

23. I've Been Ready Since December 2000...
Just seems like one big, bad dream. But, sadly it isn't. The mess left behind this regime will take years and lots of sunshine to clear up. Yep, I'm ready as well...and so are many people who I speak with...not just Democrats but former Repugnicans (now self proclaimed "independents).

Sadly, I fear the worst of this regime is still ahead...the lame duck days from Nov. 5-Jan 19th...as these crooks attempt to make their getaway.

Cheers to you OC...

30. Here's my suggestion
Free your body and soul
Unfold your powerful wings
Climb up the highest mountains
Kick your feet up in the air.

You may live forever
Or return to this earth
Unless you feel good where you are!

If you want to know how it will look, here's a picture:

31. Condi speaks Russian like Junior speaks Spanish
Wed Apr 20, 2005 at 09:50:23 AM PDT

Serial liar Condi Rice has been BUSTED. I first saw it on vitor's diary, here on DKos, which cited and quoted from a Reuters article reporting, in sum, that Condi Rice has been BUSTED on Russian radio as a hack who speaks "fluent Russian" like Bush speaks "fluent Spanish"

(snip)

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice tried out her rusty Russian in a Moscow radio interview Wednesday, only to get caught out by a question on whether she might run for president.

"Da (Yes)," Rice answered in Russian, before realizing her misunderstanding and hastily adding "Nyet" (No) -- seven times.

(snip)

"It's too complicated to answer!" Rice, in Russia to meet President Vladimir Putin, started out in English. "It is an opportunity for me to come back to Russia, a place I love very much. I love the culture and the language."
She then switched into Russian, but quickly hit trouble.

Apparently meaning to say that she would like to do her next interview in the language of her host, she chose a verb that sounded more like "to earn money" than the Russian for "to do."
