Siegelman to speak at party (DNC) function

Former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman will speak at a breakfast event for the Colorado delegation at the Democratic National Convention later this month, according to state party officials here.

Jim Spearman, executive director of the Alabama Democratic Party, said Siegelman will speak to the Colorado Democratic Party and that other states are interested in him speaking about his case and the allegations of political influence in his prosecution.

Spearman said every state has a different speaker each morning for breakfast.

He said he is still working to confirm speakers for Alabama, but knows the quilters from Gee's Bend will participate one morning.
