Wes Clark is on CNN
Talking about Russia. He makes sense doesn't sound like a hawk but doesn't sound like a dove either. He sure would have made a fine President sigh.

Maybe Secretary of State.

4. Can't understand why he's not at the top of the list
He is up on a 'take no prisoners' campaign. A Hillary ally, Southerner, Military background, dynamic speaker , yet critical of overzealous use of force .... Obama does not pick him, he's nuts. Evan Bayh is boring. Not Clark.

3. Yep, that was great
The General has been doing interviews lately. I'm depending on him to make sense of this.

As I understand him, when the Soviet Union dissolved, small territories where left behind in various countries. The issues have never been resolved, and Russia kept bases there. Last night Wes said that these small disputed lands could always be leveraged by Russia to cause unrest.

I know that under Putin, Russia is beefing up its navy. That's really none of our business unless Russia intends to stir the pot. Clark believes that a united West could help lead in settling differences. In each interview he's called for qualified observers that can report to the diplomats, and for the West to assume one policy. General Clark advised that Russia needs to move beyond 19'th century Great Game politics and become a positive force that brings cooperation.

Clark is considered one of the world's experts on Eastern Europe....like expert out of a handful. I hope someone is listening to him. We need a grown up around rather than drivel I'm hearing from the Lieberman clones on TV.

10. your friend cheapens the meaning of the term war criminal!
Your friend's ignorant attitude is a slap in the face to all of us. Anyone who wears or wore a uniform is a criminal so it seems. There is noone who hates war more than Clark, who would use it only as the last of all last resorts. He knows how awful war is. But the chowder heads who hate soldiers won't hear a word of this. He is BAAAAAD. Because he was in the BAAAAAAD Military. Bull.

14. The source
Actually after Kosovo, Milosevic accused Albright, Clinton and Clark of being war criminals. They appeared before one of the European courts and were found "innocent." I think Ramsey Clark was part of that group who did the name calling. Since Milosevic was a war criminal, I guess that point is settled.

Gen. Clark hates war...really hates it.

6. Maybe VP! I'm not counting him out.
If the requirement is the same for SOS as it is for SOD, he'd have to wait a few years to be eligible.

13. Then he'd be eligible -- although
I'd like to see Biden as SOS. But Clark would be GOOD!

8. Too anti-Russian.
He did not acknowledge the Georgian first strike but rather spoke at length about the Russian threat (which is greatly overblown for RW political purposes). Pretty much the Bush/McBombs/Saak story of The Big Scary Bear.

9. I forgot about the Russophiles on here.
Guess what anyone running for President with a chance in hell of winning will be anti-russian.

11. I was disappointed by some of his answers. Yes, Russia is misbehaving
and Europe and the US need to stand up to the aggression and demand that they stop invading, but I thought he sounded unnecessarily hawkish and doom-predictive.
