If Lenin were alive today, he'd stand in Lafayette Square Park, look to the south and say: |

1. I doubt the attribution of the quote to Lenin |

His death in 1924 greatly limited his exposure to Fascism. It sounds more like something that Trotsky or Stalin would have said.

It is extremely difficult to verify a quotation's authenticity these days. On edit: This is the closest thing to an actual reference containing those words, and it is not Lenin who said it: From here: http://books.google.com/books?id=vmXRGV33FLIC&pg=PA219&lpg=PA219&dq=Fascism+is+capitalism+in+decay.&source=web&ots=f0Jgnd6Clw&sig=RA_Xa9fccZHvbe1dPpyfWzx7onU&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=7&ct=resultThe main problem is that somebody puts up a bad quotation on the Internet, and somebody else uses it, and so on, until the thing is everywhere.
