It's the only reason I watch the Olympics. I mean, beach volleyball without bikinis? I'd rather fix a plugged drain.

|
women wearing outfits they are comfortable in to perform at their best at the olympics...
i was looking out for the sensibilities of my du buds. watching their backs...

DU is full of Olympic experts. I measured overall Olympic knowledge based on a formula of total number of posts divided by "weight loss for dummies" and "belly fat secrets" google ads on a given page.

Wouldn't it be alot more comfortable and safer in case of a wardrobe malfunction to wear something with a little more coverage than a bikini??

since almost every world class female athlete chooses to wear this uniform.

They can's show up in pants. They got to wear the bikinis or a swimsuit. Since they should project the "fun under the sun."

beach volleyball, which is one of the very few sports in the olympics that absolutely does not even need the olympics. a sport that earns millions for the participants that compete outside of the olympics.
yet you see the olympics as dictating a uniform (the bikini) that these women are uncomfortable with? really? a uniform they wear in every other competition? unabated by olympic uniform rules?
no.
if the women had a problem with the uniform, the uniform would change. they don't. don't project.
you missed the point here. women's marathoners wear the bikini (not mandated.) women's pole vaulters wear the bikini (not mandated.)
why don't people just allow world class female athletes to wear what ever uniform they are most comfortable in to accomplish the incredible athletic feats that the do without the ignorance of how that uniform might offend you personally.
you know better than they do? really?

29. lizzy? do you really think that kerri and misty are "forced" to wear something??? |
|
they own this sport. they could dictate that the judges appear naked if they wanted.
you don't think that kerri and misty and every other competitor, if they truly had a problem with the uniform, couldn't overturn any decision on uniforms from some podunk "association?"
these women RULE the sport. they get the sport. they understand the uniform thing, hell... i'd go so far as to say it was their fucking idea.
this is not the "man" dictating anything to women. this is women owning their sport and making it a success for themselves. because they get it and want to be millionaires in their game. why is that wrong?
i just don't get why folks want to shut that down.

|

What did you provide in support of your claim? Uniforms were these women's idea? What have you got to support this ridiculous assertion? LOL. LOL. LOL. By the way I have made no claim on how these two particular women feel about their uniforms. Maybe they love the skimpy bikinis. It's still a uniform.

34. hey lizzy, i don't want to fight. but links don't explain life... |
|
kerri and misty can do whatever they want to do in the sport of beach volleyball.
fact.
and if you don't understand that, you don't understand beach volleyball. there are no "links" to explain that.
kerri and misty are THE MOST important competitors in the game. not the most important "female" competitors in the game.
THE MOST important competitors in the game.
this is one area where i would think all females would rise up and shout FUCK YEAH!
kerri and misty rule this sport. total female domination.
and you come back at me with a "link" that states the bikini rule as some sort of "the man making women subservient" thing.
madon, there is a forest, and then there are some trees.
can you see?

13. So why do the men wear shirts? |
|
Wouldn't they be more comfortable without the shirts? And speaking of comfort - given the amount of time the women spend pulling their bikini panties out of their butt crack and crotch, I don't think they're all that comfortable.
It's about something, but it's not about comfort.

16. Every ounce matters. Less weight to heft over that bar the better. |
|
The measures they take are insane. Some teams weighs everything eaten, and everything eliminated. They know, and manage everything. To them, a few grams means everything, resting heart rate in the morning can foretell gold or bronze.
When NASA technology and expertise is used, the best scientific minds are brought in, you see things that may not make much sense, but to the geek, that extra weight and wind resistance can be measured, and must be accounted for.
Look at the money and effort put into the fabric used in swimming. They even study the bubbles and how they move on the surface of the fabric.
Why they wear bikinis? There could be a reason other than raising wood.
