Back in April of this year, Earnhardt was made a Navy recruiter and given a quota of 88 new National Guard soldiers by the end of August.

I was home Sunday afternoon and flipped on the idiot box to kill some time.

Lo and behold, the NASCAR race was being held in Michigan. And there was Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in his Chevrolet-powered numbah 88 National Guard car right up near the front. The first break was an 'Army Strong' commercial, which got me to thinking.

I looked in the Veterans forum about National Guard recruiting, and the last article I saw was dated 6.10.2008 --> Guard misses May recruiting goal. Hmmmmmmm, I thought. "Wonder how Junior's coming on his National Guard Brigade?" Is he going to earn that $800,000 for 88 new National Guard members?



BTW, Dale finished 23rd.
