Labor Day! people will be at picnics, ball games, beaches, movies, or older folks watching the Jerry Lewis Telethon. But this is when McLame's convention begins. Labor Day night people are getting home from events and will they want to tune into some boring (and their convention will be boring) political convention? Lots of people will be getting their kids ready for the first day of school the next day. What a stupid day to begin a convention!

3. I heard that McCain will accept on Opening Night of NFL football
I haven't checked it out yet but if so their sense of bad timing is mind boggling.

4. Yep, opening night is that Thursday
Kinda makes one wonder just how friggin' stupid these repubs are. Heck, repubs, Democrats, independents, lots of people would rather watch NFL than some babbling idiot accepting the nomination for loser...er, repub candidate. Including me. The word dumbasses comes to mind.

5. That's hilarious! I'll bet most delegates at the RNC don't even have jobs
or, don't have jobs that they actually have to show up to.

7. The Repuke convention is ALWAYS a snoozefest.
It's amazing how some people can get so worked up over NOTHING.

Soooo boring.

And you can tell which convention it is just by glancing at the crowd. Repukes are always white and fairly well dressed. Democrats are white, black, brown, yellow, and come in all shapes, sizes, and ethnicites. They wear far more interesting pins and hats, too.

I think I've been watching the conventions since about 1964 or '68.

11. In the UK, and Europe generally, Labour Day is on May Day..
and the Tories called an election for that day in 1997! A number of people thought it was ironic; and it did indeed turn out an unlucky day for them! Of course, we ended up with Tony Blair; but we didn't quite know then what he'd be like.

I hope the choice of date is similarly unlucky for McCain.
