6. Oh, they might not want to talk about plagiarism so much these days.
Wikipedia? Solzenytsin?

Plus, if you did a careful analysis of all McCain's books (now that it looks like Salter might have a tendency to borrow), how much more would turn up?

Bring it on.

7. I fear this MSNBC story from March 2004 will present more of a problem:

"Biden endorses a fusion ticket: Kerry-McCain"

16. What I'd do with that
Is make it an opportunity to contrast the current incarnation of McCain with the guy who did occasionally go against Bush's idiotic policies. I'd especially mention that in 2004 McCain called on Bush to denounce the Smearboat Liars. Now, McCain is hiring them.

19. Yeah, and there would be a case to be made. But we're dealing
with the same corporate press which turned Gore's and Kerrey's strengths against them. I think it was a dumb idea for Biden to back in 2004, and one which can easily be used against him by the talking heads if he gets the nomination.

3. Joe is good at calling BS
He knows the facts and he knows the games the other side plays, and he's not afraid to call them on it.

I would be pretty happy with him as a choice. Yes, there is his tendency to sometimes run on and to sometimes say something indelicate, but he's capable of being an honest attack dog. And he has the credibility to get away with it.

Anyway, Obama knows who the pick is and we are just doing color commentary while we wait.

I'd be happy for a guy who said a few indelicate things.

9. flip-flop, flip-flop
His vote for the Iraq war and many contradicting statements on Iraq make him a major liability that would hurt the ticket.

Joe Biden is a Rottweiler when it comes to debate and there's no way any Repuke is going to pull one over on his watch.

25. Remember the line,
"Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy"?

Bentsen was brilliant, his timing, his gravitas, his delivery. It was probably the single most powerful moment I've ever observed in American politics, because Bentsen just didn't give a fuck, and he put Quayle away with those words.

I can honestly imagine Joe Biden doing something like that. I really can. He's got big ones.

18. Biden has never known when to shut up
and if he were to be the nominee- he'd stick thick his foot right in it. No doubt in my mind about that.

The guy just likes to hear himself talk- and its been reported that Obama finds that as irritating as others do.

20. If a man has something to say why would he shut up?
I see you've bought into the right wing bullshit that Biden talks too much. Where'd you get that, FOX?

23. I got that from watching Bidens own drivel over the years
as the number 1 "guest" on the Sunday "news" shows right besides Lieberman.

In addition to making inconsistent statements (and voting with Republicans on financial bills and the war) -the man's an insufferable boor.
