Olympics: The Girl Who Beat Lolo (Possible Spoiler)
Needless to say that Australians are ECSTATIC about Sally McClellan's win in the 100M hurdles beating the gorgeous Lolo Jones.

Here's the young lady's interview after the race: http://au.sports.yahoo.com/olympics/video/?autoplay_id=9351113#embedded-video-top

Annoying or endearing?? I think a little of both. :) But I LOVE the shoutout she gave to "her mom's traveling partner."
:wtf:

1. 'The content you are trying to view is only available in certain areas."
Damn, I thought only China blocked the internets.

Damn NBC!

13. Really??!
You can't see the video?? I am so sorry about that!! That freaking sucks.

Well, it's just the video of the girl who got the silver. She's just absolutely gob-smacked, can barely complete a sentence and even mistakenly says "sh*t." Like I said, it's kind of endearing to see someone so happy and excited about getting a medal but I have a feeling that when she looks at that video in five years she'll be a little mortified.

14. Then Yahoo! must have really pissed you folks off!
Since their article was up about Lolo before I posted this.

And it wasn't like I gave very much away. Just that she didn't win, not that she came in seventh. Hope I didn't just spill the beans again.

3. I'd have loved Lolo to win
She had a rough life moving from foster home to foster home.

12. Wow!
She's purty.....

But if Anna K. could make a living being an average tennis player with above average (by some people's standards) looks, then this girl will have very few problems.

2nd runner up to Ms. Paraguay?? And now she's a javelin thrower?? Um, okay. :)

9. Well, yeah. She had a Gail Devers moment and clipped the hurdle
Its a shame, I feel bad for her. But she was a really good sport about it.

7. I think you should change the title and take Lolo's name out of it
because that is a spoiler right there. I feel bad for her, but she did a good interview afterwards, even stopped in the middle of the interview to congratulate McClellan. I loved both the winner and the 2nd place woman's reactions. They really didn't know what happened. The winner kept saying who won, who won. Congratulations to all of them, congrats to Lolo too for having a truly olympian reaction to a huge disapointment. She had it, she was expected to win. When she didn't, she basically said its hurdles and it happens, it just sucks that it was in the biggest race of my life. She wasn't whining or complaining about it, just saying what happened.

15. I know
The announcers here in Australia were saying that these were the three happiest medalist they'd ever seen. It's a far cry from the "favorites" sobbing on the dais because they ONLY got bronze. :eyes:

And sorry if my post was a spoiler! The race played last night here in Australia and I waited until almost noon today (Wednesday) to post this. I'd even seen some articles about it in the American press so I figured everyone knew.

18. Yes! You're right
She did come in second. But she was so thrilled and so excited, you would have thought it was gold all the way.
