the little 16 y/o that won the balance beam gold wore big peace symbol earrings during her interview with Costas. Maybe just a fashion statement but I hope it was more.

I suspect that is why Obama is polling so well there. I don't think they ever took kindly to cowboy foreign policy.

Bob would have asked but he tends to stay clear of any political statements by anyone. It's not as if it was akin to the '68 "fists in the air" but I want to believe it was a conscience decision on her part to wear them.
