Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 10:13 PM by ColbertWatcher
Olympic Poll #5: Favorite Part of the 2008 Beijing Olympics

The following are links to my four previous Olympic polls:

Olympic Poll #1: Opening Ceremonies Commercials

Olympic Poll #2: Opening Ceremonies Commentary

Olympic Poll #3: The Ceremony

Olympic Poll #4: Boycott

What was your favorite part of the 2008 Beijing Olympics?
Remember, if you don't see your favorite part listed, you can always vote Choice #10 (Other)

Choice #1: the Opening Ceremonies (with the exception of our drunk representative to the world)

Choice #2: Michael Phelps winning 8 gold medals

Choice #3: the American gymnastics team, especially Nastia Liukin, Shawn Johnson and Alicia Sacramone!

Choice #4: Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and the Redeem Team winning the gold in basketball!

Choice #5: beach volleyball! (hurr, hurr!)

Choice #6: Usain Bolt and the Jamaican sprinters

Choice #7: the Closing Ceremonies

Choice #8: All of it, I enjoyed everything except NBC's butt-munching coverage

Choice #9: Nothing, I didn't watch any of it

Choice #10: Other (please elaborate in reply)

2. Other: CBC Coverage!
I saw it on vacation in Ohio. WAY Less bullshit, fluff, commercials, and Phelps! I wish I had CBC back home in Chicago.

9. Hard decision
As much as I loved Bolt and the Jamaican sprinters and Phelps, the Opening Ceremony was the real winner and the closing ceremony was also fabulous.

11. It was a good show.
had a few scandals, but good show.

I hope now that they see what happens when you invite people over, they might get a little embarrassed by their human rights record.

Maybe.

12. God, if I had to see one more "up close & personal" on Phelps' mom
Jeezus, that got old really fast. Yes, Phelps achieved the impossible & that's great, but did EVERYTHING in NBC's coverage have to be about him? Most athletes get only one "up close & personal" segment per Olympics; this guy got one every half hour.
