Shit I liked Hillary a lot and would have been proud to vote for her for president |
|
But who are these idiots that McCain has in his ads claiming they are former Clinton supporters? These are not former Clinton supporters. These aren't even Democrats. Never were. No Democrat in their right mind would want the person who placed second in our primary to be our presidential candidate. That is nothing but a recipe for defeat. I want the strongest candidate to be our nominee no matter who that is. Only Republicans would want it the other way.
These ads are aimed at the weak minded citizens among us.

1. So we should make some ads with Republicans who support Obama |
|
They certainly exist. Like that Congressman, Jim Leach.

3. Agreed. IMHO anybody who claims they supported Hillary |
|
(whether they actually did or not) and now claims they are supporting McCain IS NOT and NEVER WAS a Democrat. They are Republican trolls trying to divide us.

5. If they were really Clinton supporters during the primaries, they would follow her lead |
|
and support Obama as she has asked her supporters to do. The fact that they are in direct opposition to her wishes tells me who they aren't. They aren't Democrats.

6. Yea! We're not buying into Rove's BS! |
|
I agree 100% -- was a HC supporter, and am now a PROUD Obama supporter, working my a$$ off to get him elected. HC's letters to her supporters have been VERY clear about doing everything we can to get Obama elected.
I also feel that Obama is the BEST candidate for what we need and face right now as a nation. I will always support HC in her great work on behalf of this country, and anticipate much great work from her and Bill in the future.
We need to continue this unity and not let them divide us with their bs. Anyone can drum up someone (pay them even) from central casting to say a bunch of baloney on TV. It doesn't reflect the reality and frankly, once again, what it does do is give us a good idea of where they think their weakness lay.
party unity.
Repubs and evangelicals are defecting like mad. Good conservative republicans who hold the values of the old repup party do not want to be a part of the current NeoCon thieves and the Evangelicals know that McCain didn't support their cause before. they are afraid of their own weakness so they go after ours. Typical Rovian bs. Another example of them pushing too far, I hope.
If I could issue TP for our side, it would be that every time someone brings up HC/PUMA/etc, we counter with McCain's quote "the religious right is neither" and then ask "they've been promising to overturn roe v wade for 20 years. They've never done anything about it. Did they lie to you?" and talk about the people jumping the ship that is the Titanic Repug party. And Bush/McSame.

7. The vast majority of Hillary supporters are strong Democrats who |
|
thought she was the better candidate.
A small minority of Hillary supporters are undercover republicans who thought she would be the easier candidate to beat - and now that the primary is over and Hillary is not on the ticket they are going home to the republican party.
It is a sign of the weakness of the republican party that they indulge in such tricks, because they don't have the faith that their own positions will win people over. I'm only sorry that these schmucks taint good Hillary supporters with their twisted crap.

I thought she would be the better president of the two, but Obama proved himself to be a better campaigner, so Hillary isn't an option now. Between Obama and McCain, the choice is really easy. McCain is an idiot.
Everyone should be thanking Hillary for giving Obama a strong run for his money in the primaries. He'll need that experience now.

9. Of coarse a Republican shill could sneak in? |
|
Thats not surprising and it doesn't make them a Dem either. I bet there was an Obama delegate someone could have paid off to do the same thing had it went the other way.
Republicans are thugs and desperate. They will do anything.

No shortage of them.
I know people who would sell out their own mother for a few bucks. Admittedly most are Republicans though.

12. What an unnecessary comment. This is a very positive |

thread, with several former Hillary supporters claiming their full support behind Obama. For you to kick the proverbial mud in their face is just to incite. Get over yourself and get over your meanness.

We have been treated to a commercial with two current or former elected Democrats oh so smugly saying they are voting for the Republican for Senate, Gordon Smith, because they can trust him. Turncoasts talking about who can be trusted, nice.

16. I keep saying this. This is a contingency of "Clinton supporters" that are being used |
|
by the GOP and media to give the illusion of (and ultimately create) divisiveness in our party. These people are no more than a GOP tactic to divide the party and were never Democrats and would have never voted for Clinton or any other Dem. But they sure make it look like the Democratic party is in serious trouble. People are throwing this term "PUMA" and making the accusations that all (most, some, a good number) of Clinton supporters are party defectors.
It's a media driven GOP tactic to divide and conquer. And there are a good number of DUers that are playing right into it.
