"I love you Daddy"
That was the power moment for me. The defining moment that says "their family is just like yours".

I don't think McCain is going to be able to pull off an American moment like that. They shit a brick over in the McCain camp when that came off. They're all telling themselves "no one was watching".

5. Without a shred of doubt, that was the moment I PRIZED ... Sasha!
Those kids have totally owned me since I first saw them. Sasha is AWESOME ... with 'TUDE and a sense of herSELF. (Amazingly well-balanced for an 8-year-old.)

That was an ENORMOUS moment ... and was IMPOSSIBLE to script. Honest. Loving. Sincere. In front of THOUSANDS and it's "Hi Daddy!"

She owns me ... heart and soul.

8. The Obama family
This is my first post, so I hope this works.
To TahitiNut: I totally agree with you on all counts. I also admire your choice of quotations. Very thoughtful. Thank you.

11. I pity the people that
believe people of different races don't love their families and share the same hopes and dreams for their children. And then to further project that hatred out into the world is just sickening. It's unbelievable that the Obamas are still defending themselves. If anything they are more like "us" than the McCains!

12. Many Rethug families will never relate
They know about sitting in front of TV shoveling food into their mouth and grunting while watching "Wheel Of Fortune", or coming home to find mom drunk again after a five martini afternoon and dad out all night banging his secretary.

14. I just read on Huffpo that when one of the girls said "what city are you in"
she was reacting to the fact that Dad had said he was both in Kansas City and St Louis that night.
I didn't even catch the slip, so I find this to be both hilarious and precious.
