Wow... Being In The Hall When Kennedy Entered And Came To The Podium.
...was just an amazing experience. I am sure that it was moving and affecting as everyone sat at home and watched on television or on the Internet, but there was just something about being in the atmosphere, watching the reaction from the audience in the Pepsi Center convention hall here in Denver.

2. I loved the tribute - and was very glad that Kennedy could make it to my hometown..
And enjoying it as well - but I was wondering what the wrapping on his left hand is for...

12. Um, if you look at the photo, you can see that I had a big huge TV screen in front of me, too.
The point of the post was not to make people jealous.

where exactly were you in the hall?
is there a special area for bloggers? Do they allow you to move around freely or are you confined to certain parts of the hall?
Looking forward to hearing about the experience.

on me. The blogger's lounge is on a level away from the main hall, but I have access to go into the hall and sit and watch. There is no blogging area in the main hall. I walked into the Print Press area in the main hall and found the Washington Times power cord and ethernet access space being unused and thought about appropriating it from their sorry asses, but then thought better of it.

Powerful stuff. He is moved by many emotions, the dimming of Teddy's blinding light, the realization of the passing of the baton by his generation, Teddy's core message...a stunning image.

Creepy Republicans really ought to fear the Irish when the Kennedys are serious.

One of the "GOOD," ethical, socially serving, Dem. crowd, Kennedys, Kerry, Dodd etc........etc.
Then there;s the insider crowd: Hatch, Kornyn, Kykle,McConnel, etc the real scum!

Kennedy was just awe-inspiring.

Only one major error I know of so far. At the DNC "party for your party" after the
convention closed for the day, Howard and I talked, mostly about personal stuff, but also
about making Texas within striking distance for us, thus forcing McCain to spend time
and money there that he would rather spend in Ohio or Florida. Howard's error? Inviting
a band called the Goo Goo Dolls to play at the thing. Normally I wouldn't hear of having
a band that loud play such a small venue. Now I just can't hear--ANYTHING!

PS--I didn't take my camera tonight, and anyway, a 28th photo of Howard and me seems
a little like overkill anyway! LOL

Did take the tram back with Henry Waxman, tho...........

32. The regluar DU bloggers are doing a fine job
And I'm not officially here in any DU capacity. Just a Dexpat (Democrat Abroad),
an unofficial Texan (i.e. good friends in the TX delegation), and a friend of
Howard (big bear hug from him when I saw him Monday night).

I even joked around for a minute with Carville. He spoke at a Texas Democrats thing
I was at 2 years ago, and when he saw it was a full house, he said that when he was
asked to speak at the Texas Democrats, he thought he was going to be speaking in a
phone booth. That brought down the house, and I told him I still thought it was a
great line. He laughed, gave me a poke in the gut, and said thanks, and we went our
separate ways. There are just a lot of little personal things like that that are
just little asides to the whole convention, not really of great import, but little
incidents that put a human face on things where the speeches are the things that get
reported and video-taped, and get the hundreds of comments and recs.

When I met Don Siegelman, I just told him about how I wanted him to let me
know his website so I could make a contribution to his legal fund. He gave it to
me, shook my hand with heartfelt thanks, asked for my card, said "God bless," and
that was that.

All notables are being shuffled from one thing to another, and to have time alone
with anyone of note for more than a minute, your name has to practically be Obama,
Biden, or Clinton.

24. You had to be blown away seeing him in person
Ted Kennedy was so great on PBS that I watched the later feed so I could see the whole thing all over again. You are truly honored to be there to witness this in person. It's comfortable for me at home, and you've got a lot of logistics to contend with. But nothing can take the place of actually being there.

Inhale every second of this. Thanks for helping to put us there, too.

25. Very powerful stuff, thanks Hissyspit
I can only imagine the room electifying as this legend of a statesman took the stage. He was spot on too!

I hope the effort didn't drain him too much, or do you think he was given a huge nergy boost form all the love pouring towards him from that crowd!? I bet the room was just full of it!

I really wept when I heard him say that he would be there for Jan 09 - and I do believe he will make it there! He's a survivor, for sure. (thought it was abit unnerving seeing the part on his head when he turned around, it was still showing where they performed the surgery ...now that's dedication for him to even get there!)

Again, thanks for being there and giving us the 'scoop', stay safe and keep holding up that light of HOPE! ;)
