There's hope for freepers! (freep stands up for Michelle Obama)

Natch the hideous freeps were ragging all over Michelle and spewing incredibly racist garbage, but kudos to this one's daughter for getting her to tune in!

I tuned in tonight to watch Michelle’s speech because I promised my daughter I would. I thought it was a very beautiful speech. I don’t post very often because I find this to be a sometimes ungracious site, especially more and more, but I think sometimes that maybe we do need a change. I’m not particularly happy with the direction of the country right now, and I find that a lot of the posts that I read here are flat out lies, disinformation, whatever you want to call it. What happened to differentiating on just the issues? That was a classy, humble speech, and I have no doubt that she was speaking truth. She reminded me a bit of Nancy Reagan.

They typically bring out those Viking Kitties who sing to Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song". I'm guessing she'll be seeing those Viking Kitties very shortly. Rational thought is expressly forbidden at FR.

BTW, comparisons to Jackie Kennedy are not all that accurate. All Jackie had was fashion sense and beauty and poise. Michelle's got all that plus mega-brains and immense heart-n-soul.

Actually, I believe the Bush family (Poppy and Barb) really detested the Reagans--saw them as crass California upstarts, as opposed to the great gravitas of their own New England heritage.

Anecdote: my partner worked for the Screen Actor's Guild back in the days when Reagan was Governor of California (and Ronnie was of course a member because of his prior career). When he got elected, there was a big party for them at SAG. A converationn was overheard: "So Governor, what's next? President?" Ronnie poo-poos the idea amiably, but Nancy turns to the questioner and says, "You bet your ass!"
