After Joe's little meltdown I half expected the screen to go blank and one of the "Simpsonesque" technical difficulties boards to go on screen. (A picture of Joe in a straight-jacket with a cuckoo bird coming out of his head).

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if we're told that Joe's on sabatical for the next day or so and someone else is in the host's chair through the rest of the convention season.

Live TV, you have to love it.

No. That is the way Republicans act when they aren't getting their way. That is the narcissist at his ugliest -- and Republicans tend to be more narcissistic than Democrats -- almost by definition. Only a narcissist thinks that he or she has "made it" on his or her own merit because he or she is after all better than other people.

9. In a nutshell

Around 7 a.m. Mika did a news blurb on Maliki saying that US troops would be out of Iraq in 2011.

Joe's brain shortcircuits and he says something along the lines of "O.K. Maliki, we pull out our troops and we'll see how soon it takes for a bullet to be in your head".

David Shuster called Joe out and asks Joe if he's going to have the balls to call out McCain's team next time they make some comment about "weakness in leaving Iraq early".

Joe loses it and says he's (Joe) a moderate and independent thinker and takes no guff from the Repubs.

David then says "No, I'm the Independent". "You (Joe) are a Republican hack".

At that point, Joe goes ape-shit while Mika, Willie and the other guests start looking for the nearest exit.



It was utterly amazing. I'll give MSNBC credit in showing the whole ugly mess without cutting to commercial.

He's an ugly bully. The remarks about Maliki taking a bullet to his head should be enough to have his show pulled.

I'm surprised Shuster didn't tell Joe to do the anatomically impossible after that comment.

If the producers ever have the guys in white bring out the net for Joe I'd like to see Dan Abrams take the hosting position. But I gather that Abrams is on the west coast so I guess that wouldn't work out so well.

The show has potential to be good (as far as a morning discussion show goes) but Joe's increasing tendency to steamroll over everyone has been killing the appeal.
