ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- One half of the U.S. Senate race is set.

His likely challenger is U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens, who led with 63 percent of the vote, with 37 percent of the votes counted.

Begich had 91 percent of the Democratic vote.

1. Senator Going Down The Tubes Is Toast...
Chalk up another "big night" for the "Club For Growth" (such as a planter's wart)...they can't even knock off a corrupt pork barreller whose been indicted. Not sure what that says about either the "Club" or the Alaskan repugnicans.

Congrats to Mark! It'll be nice to add Alaska to the growing list of Blue Senate states next January. Also, add Ethan Berkowitz to the House...replacing the even more corrupt Don Young.

3. "...replacing the even more corrupt Don Young."
Is that even possible?

I'm so naive.

4. My husband and I voted at 5:30 PM Alaska time -
both for Begich. It's 1:23 am here, and I'm elated that Mark will be our next Senator.

His father was amazing. He was the first Senator I was eligible to vote for, and I did.

Stevens, you Corrupt Bastard (reigning member of the Corrupt Bastard club, founded by the Oil Fuckers of Alaska) YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY OUT.

Thank you, fellow Alaskans, and fellow Democrats!
