Nobody ever bothered telling the Russians. Strike that. The Russians are smart, they knew. Nobody bothered telling the American people. Our Neocon overseers know that they always need an enemy to point to justify their obscene Defense budgets and Intelligence rackets. So, looks like the global threat of terrorism will wane and the Russians will emerge as "a new greater threat". Same old story, same old song and dance.

1. We should have known that when you are shooting for Empire you

would still be out to take over Russia just like we have tried in every other section of the world. Unfortunately our military industrial complex idea will work in Russia to keep their people sedated just as well as it does here.

Imagine the flip side of that map with Cuba, Mexico, and much of Central and South America first forming strong alliances diplomatically and economically with with Russia and then gradually starting to host Russian weapons systems.
