Creeping fascism to stop soon ?
WHEN Barack gets elected, it is my assumption that the creeping fascism will at least stop. I am correct in this assumption, yes ? This is one of the many reasons I am voting for him !

1. I think it's going to be like a train wreck playing out - slow and painful.
Corporate sponsored fascism is going to be a little more difficult.

2. I think it will be slowed somewhat,
but I think our biggest mistake is considering this problem to be housed in a dichotomy of Republicans and Democrats. Almost all of them are beholden to many corporations and it's the merger of government and corporations that is the hallmark of fascism. We need look no further than Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the host of DLCers to realize that fascism cuts across both parties. In fact, the only ones partying it up right now are the corporations. They are having a robber baron time of their lives!

So, no, one single man, no matter how much of an idealist (and soon to be President-elect Obama is more of a centrist than an idealist), will be able to stop this trainwreck. Either, We The People will rise up (yucky, bloody, scary revolution - not something I'm dying to see) or our Empire will implode, in a slower fashion under Obama, but it will still happen.

If McCain "wins" (translate that to steals) the election, this Nation will destroy itself in short order. I won't be around long enough to see what comes next.
