Seeking good vibes
I have left politics I hope in the hands of wiser minds with personal task more demanding in mine, I've been a caregiver for my wife for some ten years or so fighting day to day with no plan, floundering for years, dealing with what comes up but rising to the occasion every time it seams for here we still are.

An opportunity has arisen for me to work that will enable me to acquire good insurance and pay for qualified help to take care for my wife when I'm working, it is in good time because all resources are spent we are at a crossroad where I am not able to provide for her much less my self any longer.

Here is where I need your help, there is a shipyard here in fl. that is looking for experienced shipfitters I do have that experience but it was thirty years ago, I'm now 56 but in as good shape as ever and feel my skills are enhanced with further education and being self employed and realizing the necessity of getting the job done right without exception every time, but my skills must be rusty and I will be tested tuesday morining, nothing short of a miracle I believe can make this happen. I'm reading a gift of wings by Richard Bach this week, just in time imo.

Wish me God speed.

6. Being a shipfitter is like riding a bicycle!
If it's the welding test making you nervious, just take it easy - not too fast, but not too slow, don't crank your machine up too hot, make sure your fillets look even, smooth and shiny, and you'll do fine. Other than that, read up on some of the techniques and environmental/OSHA requirements. I'm not aware of any major changes in the business over the past 25 years when it comes to the actual work skills - it's mainly process and safety/hazmat requirements.
I used to do project management and had to observe/QA shipfitters - if you were good before, it won't take you much to get back to your skill level.

Crossing my fingers for you.

Haele
