Palin would drive away women in droves.
That is simply my gut feeling.

I don't know one damned thing abut her except that she's a former beauty queen, former journalist, was elected as a 'reformer, and tried to have her ex brother in law fired from his state trooper job.

As I said, this is a gut feeling only. If you disagree with me, fine. That's fair. But there's no need to attack me.

3. I don't know about other women, but she'd drive me away.
Something to do with that "R" after her name. It just rubs me the wrong way.

4. It's kinda shades of Mondale-Ferraro there.

well...except that Ferraro was actually smart and competent, and would shred Mcsame in a debate.

And we all know how well THAT ticket went.

6. ok -- different thoughts here -- what palin represents is where the repukes must go
in the future.
and that moment is on them now.

they must offer a different face than the rabid social conservatives they have been offering.

guilliani, schwarzennegger, weld and yes palin is where they have to go -- and that's what we'll see.

what this crew has in common with the past more than anything else is the economically divided country we've all been building since reagan.

all that being said -- there is nothing i despise more than a conservative.

7. The only problem is that the media will go berserk and suck up all the oxygen with her.

8. Maybe McCain was having problems finding someone shorter?
I was hoping it was Graham or Joe L.

10. I wonder how the misogynist Righteous Right would take to her "talking" back
to a man at the VP debates.

11. Strikes me as a desperate move on McCain's part
two "historic" tickets, so to speak (except it's already been done before and by the Democratic party).... an attempt to counter the first African-America as president

Frankly, any woman who would vote McCain over their own bodies...well....that's just sick.

12. I just typed this on another thread
I like her as govenor, I would never vote for her because she is a puke , but the rw radio staions hate her fugging guts. Call her leftist, socialist etc. Dan Fagin in paticular's head will explode and he is the rush limbaugh of ak.
She is being investigated over trying to get her ex brother inlaw fired from his job. He is an asshole but she is abusing her power to use the gov office to get her family enemy. That is a no=no.

---
She is genuinely like able to men and women, but not ready for the big league. It will be a mistake to pick her. She has a brand new baby who has down syndrome, and 4 other kids. I think this is a smoke screen for someone else. And the investigation...

13. Palin
A choice like this might appear to be too 'spontaneous' for many diehard Republicans. A lot of Religious Righters are already finding McCain hard to swallow - I think they'd sit this one out. The base is pretty traditional minded so unless it is simply a tactic to get press momentum, I don't know how much women would simply vote for another woman. I wouldn't. Especially if Hillary tells her 18 million 'she is not the right woman'. That would take care of crossover women voters in my mind....

Being pro Big Oil, anti-choice, anti-polar bear, pro-drilling in Alaska and anti environmnent.

Wouldn't exactly make McCain move to the middle where the votes are...
