Does anybody else get the definite impression that they are throwing this election? |
|
either that, or they are extremely confident in their ability to steal it.
just HOW BAD could things be going to get with the economy, if they're this desperate to be out of office when the shit hits the fan?
this is not good.

Dems take the fall. Wait for the collective consciousness forget about last time, and get in there and rape, loot, and pillage all over again.
I was surprised that the Dems picked up so many seats in the last election, given the RW ability to steal elections. Makes me wonder if they will throw it this time or what.

This entire thing has gotten too weird. I've thought all along that McCain was some sort of joke, but this latest development has me convinced that it's all a farce. And, yes, I agree with you that this is not good.

The choice of Sarah Palin is a strategic decision, just as is Obama's choice of Joe Biden.

8. I've said it often: The Republicans only hope this election is for McCain to lose. . . |
|
The only chance the Republicans have is for McCain to lose. George W. has left the nation in such a shambles, it's difficult to imagine how anyone can set things aright. Another four years of McSame would doom the Republicans -- and they know it. Their best hope is for a Democrat to inherit W's disasters. Then, whichever way it goes -- if the Democrat can fix the problems, or if they prove uncorrectable in one or two terms -- the Republicans may be in a position to stage a comeback. It may take more than two or even four election cycles, but they'll have the opportunity. Unless, that is, McSame is elected, and all the disasters coming down the pike end up piled unequivocally on their doorstep. So picking a novice running mate helps strengthen McCain's ability to lose.

I think they can't wait to hand the mess over to Obama, and then snipe and whine at everything he does for the next four years.
I truly hope Obama and his cabinet have the courage to go after the repuke criminals in the current Misadministration and prosecute them to the fullest extent. If some of them land behind bars, they won't be in a position to cheat their way back into power in 2012.

It's obvious that everyone has had ENOUGH of the Bush/Cheney cabal pillaging and the destruction of this country & its Constitution.
The GOP is a joke & this is the best they can do...if anybody's gotta worry about the VP possibly filling in it's the old wrinkly guy....maybe he needs Paris Hilton's advice again.

25. I think what they are trying for.... |
|
Is a 50%-plus-one victory.
271 electoral votes.
They are trying to stop the slide of some tossup states to the Dems.
Remember, they don't care about bipartisanship or building a coalition. They want their 271 electoral votes so they can declare that a "mandate" and run the country like a fucking king. Again. Completely ignore the 50%-minus-one minority and lavish favors on your benefactors.
Although you're idea has merit. I've thought the same thing on more than one occasion.

34. Well, they stole the last two. |
|
They've proven they can run shit candidates and "win" even still. Considering our proven spineless Congress, it's not like they'd fight back if they stole this one as well.
However, I agree with the poster above that believes they are throwing this because 4 more years of McBush would completely destroy the party, and it's best to just throw the match.
