This is like when Harriet Myers was picked by the Shrub. His own party went berserk.
If he were to get elected, McCain has a real chance of not living out his full term (NOT speaking ill or wishing anything bad on him, just recognizing he's freekin' old). That would leave the nation in the hands of someone younger and less experienced than Obama, nowhere near as talented, and from a State that doesn't really prepare you to lead a nation as populous and complex as the US. FAIL, indeed.

On our side, the process was organic. We had candidates that progressed through our party and HAPPENED to be minorities, i.e. black, woman. This was just utterly cynically calculated, 'we need a woman to generate excitement and grab those PUMAs.'
