That's one of the talking point!
Someone is making this sh*t up somewhere!

What are the talking points you are reading/hearing?

I clearly see what is happening here. Palin it the Dutch boy's thumb in the ethics dike!
She is the counterweight to McSame's inability to make "the Maverick thing" believable.

They stuck "Miss Congeniality" in the ethic dike breech because this sh*t is really hitting the fan:

There are two dozen MORE Republican indictments in the offing in the Abramoff scandal alone.
More indictments of Republican Senators are likely in the Alaskan "gifts" scandals.
The Cheney pay-to-play scandals are breaking, thanks to Ted Steven accidentally implicating Cheney.
Don Young and a group of co-conspirators are about to be indicted on a very long list of charges.

And, that's just my short, short list of R "ethics lapses" my friends.

2.  The Corrupt Bastards Club still rules Alaska, I suspect..
There seems to be competing factions in the Big Oil world.
Palin is still a Big Oil choice! Just a question of which Big Oil choice.

PS Welcome to DU.

5. Sorry Repubs...
Mayor of Wasilla (?) AK. doesn't qualify as a full-time job. Keeping the roads clear of Moose might require a couple hours of attention a week.

What EXACTLY has Palin been doing the last twenty plus years that qualifies her to occupy the highest office in the land?

Military Moms and Dads are as brave as their children that serve, but hardly qualified to be our Commander in Chief.

While I admire community service on every level lets get real. McCain just dispelled any doubt that he is unable to grasp the dire circumstances

this country is facing.

7. "Palin left the finances of her town Wasilla in tatters"
McSame isn't the only one lacking in economics!

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/29/183255/841/290/579394

Sarah Palin left the finances of her town Wasilla in tatters when she moved on in 2002 (h/t xgz). She wanted a legacy as mayor, it seems, and pushed hard for the town to build a hyper-expensive sports complex. But Palin screwed the process up badly. Instead of buying the land for the complex when it was offered, her administration allowed a developer named Gary Lundgren to snap it up. Then Wasilla tried to seize the land from Lundgren through eminent domain. In the end, what with court costs Wasilla paid at least $ 1.7 million for land it could have bought for less than one tenth that sum ....

That said, Palin probably keeps her own household books. McCain can't even pay his credit cards on time!

12. They understand this as strategic, no doubt, and as a play to stupidity.
Sadly, playing a "dumbed down" campaign really works in American politics.
This says more about control of the media than anything else, perhaps.

You own it, you spin it!

18. Aided by bloggers, the MSM is digging up the skeletons on Palin as we type.
We'll look back on this during President Obama's second term and laugh our heads off.

I don't think the media is buying the McCain campaign's Palin spin as the gospel truth. It's only
a matter of time before Palin gets skewered. MSM has already been panning McCain's choice,
however subtly. Obama's surrogates have been blasting away. Polls show the Palin rollout
hasn't done McCain any good.

Can't wait for the VP debates. Biden will be able to deftly roll her in that gentlemanly but
deadly way he has.

She has a lot more experience with the Corrupt Bastards Club,
but she said nothing outing Ted and Don (just, build that Bridge to Nowhere faster).

I heard this one. What dumb a**e* all governors are head of their states national guard. All they have to do is point that out. Ask how many time has she had to call them out in a state emergency "0"
