If I went to DC could I actually see Obama's inaugaration
or would I be city-blocks away enjoying the celebration on the street or watching a screen in a bar? I might make the trip if I can actually watch the event in person.

1. You could stand on Pennsylvania Avenue
and see the parade to and from the Capitol, where the swearing-in takes place.

As for getting up close, that's pretty much impossible, the Capitol Plaza seats being reserved for Congressional guests.

3. Good luck with that!
:hi: Especially if they actually don't cheat Obama out of this one.

6. I am considering it
DC is about 700 miles from here and I can get that time off work...I might just reserve a room and make the trip. :hi:

4. I'm definately going to be there. I'll be moving to
Virginia in October so I'll be able to go. So, if anyone knows anything about tickets, please do tell.

5. Contact your Congressman
That's the best way to get tickets unless you're already involved in local politics.

7. I was thinking the same thing!!!
Seriously considered putting in for vacation this morning so I could have 3-4 days off in January to go party my ass off in DC.

But I don't want to jinx it, so I'll wait until December to ask. :tinfoilhat:
