May "God" protect New Orleans. |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 08:30 PM by Cyrano
This may seem like a futile prayer since I've often stated here on DU that I'm an "orthodox" agnostic.
Nonetheless, about all that any of us can do right now is pray that New Orleans does not get hit with another horrendous disaster from this approaching hurricane. Especially since we still have a federal government that we can count on to do nothing.
So here's my bottom line. Whether you're a believer, an agnostic, or an atheist, please ask whatever universal intelligence might exist to spare a wonderful city that doesn't need any more misery.

1. Ran into some L.A. firefighters in a store earlier this evening -- they said they were dispatching |
|
--personnel/crews to New Orleans.
What do the official emergency service folk know that hasn't gotten in to the news cycle yet?

because The New And Improved FEMA!!!! must be the Official Heroic First Responders now that a REAL American like Piyush Jindal is in charge of Louisiana and not that arrogant Democratic Woman who didn't want to take "help" on Boy Emporer George's terms.

6. Yes, New Orleans needs to be protected from Republicans. But |
|
fist, it needs to be protected from the forces of nature.
Hurricanes don't distinguish between Dems and Thugs.

8. Yep. "it certainly can't hurt." |
|
But what burns to the core of my being that all of our "religion" and science can't stop another possible disaster.
