We need to call out the anti-choice folks
Most people have not thought out what a post Roe v. Wade world would look like. But abortion foes have. So we need to call them out on that vision. We need to ask them publicly to address these questions:

1) Assuming Roe v. Wade is repealed, you'd support making abortion illegal in your state, right? (The answer would be yes.)

2) OK, then, let's talk about enforcement of that. What penalties should be applied to women who have abortions and doctors who perform them?

This second question is vital to winning and shoring up support for the pro-choice cause. That's because many anti-choice advocates advocate long prison sentences -- or even the death penalty -- for women who have abortions and their doctors. And, when confronted, many of them will actually say so. We need to entice them to do that as often as we can.

I think most people -- even many who think of themselves as moderately "pro-life" -- would be shocked at the idea of sending women and doctors to prison (or the death chamber) in order to enforce a ban on abortions in some states. Most people would say: "That goes too far. I would not want to see that happen."

Hence, I think that's what we need to concentrate on: the idea hat, if folks like Sarah Palin have their way, some states will end up imprisoning or even executing people who have or perform abortions.
