4. Should anyone fucking care?

Fundy or atheist, she is anti-gay and anti-choice. Religion and politics should be non-overlapping magisteria.

10. I often push Timmy after he throws sand in my eyes.
Normally the other kids respond by crapping themselves and biting ankles. We call that progress.

7. Should be, but AREN'T. She believes global warming is not man-made, and that creationism should
be taught in public schools.
Scary, dangerous shit.

9. I care. If she talks in tongues, it's an issue.
If she thinks US foreign policy can help trigger a return by Jesus, it matters.

11. There are liberal Christian Theologists too. Worry about issues.

You can win an election and lose the war. Its sometimes tough to understand that.

Talking in tongues is a definite sign of insanity, and such similar insanity can be displayed in any religion or absent of any of it. Religion is not really the key here. Look where she stands at what mindset she stands there with. Not all religious people are 100% insane (just 53.4% minimum).

15. I don't care if she is a Pentecostal and speaks and tongues
Al Sharpton is a Pentecostal preacher. They are a more diverse group than many would imagine.

I would care if she like Tom Delay thinks that the Harram al Sharif in Jerusalem must be destroyed so that Jesus can return. Now that would be dangerous. And that would be a fairly common belief among people of her particular "Bible believing Christian" ilk.(that's her description of herself)

16. Yes. Folks' beliefs always have an affect on
their policies for better or worse. Howard Dean thought that he was doing God's work in Vermont with the Civil Unions because he thought God made people gay. Just sayin....

12. Can Biden possibly bring this up or hit her on it? How can he without looking like a bigot?
And then it devolves into some kind of Catholic versus Protestant sectarian ugliness.

13. the Dallas Morning News had this to say -- probably a Pentecostal

Is Sarah Palin the first Pentecostal to make it onto a major political ticket?

http://religionblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/08/is-sarah-palin-the-first-pente.html

Start with the question of whether she's Pentecostal. Here's what I found earlier today:

This is from this summer's Alaska Assemblies of God newsletter:

Superintendent Ted Boatsman, who was Palin's junior high pastor at Wasilla Assembly of God, along with Pastor Mike Rose of Juneau Christian Center, where Palin presently attends church when in Juneau, laid hands on the Governor and led the Council in prayer.

The Assemblies of God is one of the larger Pentecostal denominations in the US.

OTOH, I've found other references to her as attending a non-denominational Christian church in Wasilla. And there's this, from Rev. Rob Schenck:

In his conversation with Gov. Palin and her husband, Todd, he asked about their church life. They told him they were active members of an independent Bible church.
