Sarah Palin - An American Thatcher

The McCain-Palin Issues Chart

- Sarah Palin has defended liberty and freedom by enforcing and promoting a strict interpretation of the constitution

She's like Alito and Scalia, in other words...and will attack what she will call "judicial activism"

2. At least Thatcher wasn't religiously insane (unless worshipping Milton Friedman is a religion)

And she had a brain, just no heart.

4. Margaret Thatcher went to Oxford
She got a chemistry degree in 1947. She was in the House of Commons from 1950 on. Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton, and she's certainly no Margaret Thatcher. Good lord these people won't stop at anything.

8. Ms. Palin, I know Margaret Thatcher.
I grew up under Margaret Thatcher.

Ms. Palin, you're no Margaret Thatcher.

Mark.

10. I don't get why so many people here somehow seem offended by this.
Thatcher was a complete disaster, probably the worst British Prime Minister of the 20th century who inflicted misery on millions of her country's most vulnerable people.

I don't doubt for a second that Palin would have similar success as US President, even without a chemistry degree from Oxford...

13. You know, you'd think if the GOP had a Margaret Thatcher hiding amonst their ranks,
they would've beaten a path to her door already. Not 'discovered' her just after the most important acceptance speech in recent history.

I'm not fond of Tatcher, but she was no lightweight.
