18. I moved my 85 year old mom in with me last August, she has always

been republican but for the first time in her life she registered as a democrat and voted for Obama in the primaries. I was so happy. Then some time over the last 2 months she started talking up McCain, it turns out she found the Fox network here and had been watching it all day while we were at work! :nuke: I have been furious with her and finally told her to stop talking to me about politics, I can't take it anymore.

they have to amputate. i have to wait till Oct 21 for the soonest surgery date. i cant take pain meds at work, bummer. still have a lot i have to do around the house, that must be done..

the wife is having hip surgery Sept 10, i get family leave for that. she had the other hip done a year and a half ago.. gaul bladder surgery 4 months ago.. geeze get'n old is a bitch. i had 3 needless surgeries on my hand, lost 8 months of work. it was really hard on me, physically and mentally, ~12 hrs anesthesia 15 days hospital unending torturous therapy, i'll be 60 in 4 months. they neglected exercise after 1st surgery and crippled my shoulder for life

i did some searching.. if figured people here would be lock'd and loaded with links and LTTE's.. it isn't just for my retired police captain brother.. who is sinking into nihilism.. but to be informed in conversations. i need to be ready to support OBAMA any chance i get.

8. In addition to the Permanent Fund, each Alaskan is getting

an extra $1200 this year to help offset the high cost of energy. Like the Permanent Fund (which will mean between $2000 and $2100 this year), each man/woman/child who has been an Alaskan resident for at least a year will get a check.

I don't know how the extra $1200 is being funded - maybe it's being pulled from the Permanent Fund, maybe it's being funded by the state government (I suspect the latter), but at any rate, Palin does get credit for the extra $1200 to some degree.

I'm sure my Republican brother, who lives in Alaska, is just thrilled with this pick. Blech.
